When I woke up this morning it was a dreary sky. Sure, a few rain storms- but just MEH on the gray dark sky that hung above. I almost called you- to see if tomorrow works better- or a day next week. But, trusting my weather apps saying it would clear up at 6pm, I didn’t call to discuss that disgusting sky- I trusted and arrived.
It took me no time to know the gorgeous family of 3 walking up was you! Over e-mail you described almost-two-year-old Ford as adventurous and loving the outdoors. And my oh my were you right on that one!
Those sandy blonde curls gently swayed in the breeze as he totally ran away from me and toward the water- that’s my kinda guy! But seriously, Ford, nothing at all phased you. You loved the sand between your toes, exploring the rough shells with your hands and of course dipping your toes (and then your entire body) into the giant waves of Lake Erie!
You and I were both quickly soaking wet, but as happy as can be and isn’t that truly what Summer is all about anyways?! I can’t wait to have more fun in the sun with you in the years to come!
Adventure is no problem for you sweet boy and I can’t wait to see what lies ahead in the upcoming year for your sweet little life! Thank you for bringing me along on the best night ever- Summer isn’t over just yet!
