Happy Birthday, Layla! You are too, two cute!
You have grown so much since I last saw you and I fall more in love with you every time I see you. Those wispy blonde curls! That sweet as sugar personality! Those gorgeous blue eyes! And, of course, that dimple!
My favorite thing about your family is that you guys just Layla be Layla. This photoshoot was for her and it was also FOR her. Layla got to play and explore and get wet and get dirty and we were all just along for the ride. When she had fun, we had fun. And, because she had such a good time, we were able to get some amazing photos and just really capture the essence of Layla at two.
I hope that in years to come, these pictures bring you back to what her hand felt like in yours, what her laugh sounded like, how her still baby-chubby feet navigated the rocks, the way she smells after she’s been out playing and having fun. You know… all the things that are the first to slip away as we make new memories and explore new stages together.
I know we had to reschedule a few times to make this weather cooperate, but I feel like it worked out exactly how it should in the end. The weather was beautiful. Everyone was happy and healthy. And, the anticipation of getting to play and have fun with your family was something to get to look forward to.
I imagine this year ahead will bring lots of excitement and adventure for your family as Layla gets more words and, even, more opinions too. I am so thankful that I get to be a little piece of Layla’s story and watch her grow.
