Happy First Birthday Lovely Little Layla,
I have to start by saying, I am not really a morning person either. It is tough to get up and chase the sunrise and perfect light. I am so glad we did too, even if we did have to give you an iPhone and some keys to coax some smiles out. I feel seen a little because I, too, love iPhones and cars. I’d probably have let you drive away in my car to get a smile out of you because your dimple just kills me. It’s the best.
The fall colors were certainly showing out during our time at Hudson Springs Park. I resisted fall this year because summer just seemed to fly by, but the richness of this fall is already starting to convince me that maybe it won’t be so bad after all. If I get to spend crisp, yet warm, mornings in fall with cuties like you, I have nothing to complain about. In fact, I have lots to be grateful for!
I love that it was warm enough for you to toddle around with your bare feet on the blanket of gorgeous leaves. There is something about that little crunch from the leaves that brings me right back to my childhood and running around barefoot as the new season ushered out the old. It’s magical in its own right and once you perked up, I think you thought so too!
I know I just went on and on about how beautiful the weather and light were at our shoot, but I also LOVE the pictures of you laying on the cream blanket. Your eyes absolutely sparkled in contrast and I got some of the best grins!
We were able to capture some of the details that make this bridge between being a baby and a toddler so extra sweet. I got some pictures of those new teeth and some pictures of your still chubby little hands that are holding on to the last of the baby stage. I can’t wait to watch you grow and look forward to capturing the stages of your life in the future.
